The already battered Atlanta Braves outfield took another literal hit last night when center fielder Jordan Schafer suffered a non-displace sinus fracture against the New York Mets.

Though the Braves will probably get by with Joe Mather and Matt Young, the team has said it will not place Schafer on the disabled list yet.

Schafer fouled a bunt attempt off his face in the fifth inning last night. Though he fell to the ground and his helmet was knocked off by the ball, he eventually walked off the field under his own power.

Schafer, who had been hitting .235, had been filling in for the injured Nate McLouth, who is on the DL with a strained oblique and is eligible to return to action on Tuesday.

Right fielder Jason Heyward is also on the DL with shoulder soreness.
